Below are some of the biggest problems in the world. All of which can be solved with a lot of work.
ISIS: The terrorist group ISIS is by far a danger to the
world. Steep military action is needed
to end this problem. The other Arab
nations need to pull together more and assist with eradicating this enemy of
the world.
Syrian Refugees: A
problem tied to the ISIS problem are the Syrian refugees. This is a great burden on the world, social and
economically. The refugees need safe
zones set up so they can stay in their own country. This is better for them, and the world.
Mexican Border: The border between Mexico and the US is
extremely unprotected. This allows
people an opportunity to come into the US illegally. This issue has caused a great divide in the
US over what to do about the people here illegally. A decision has to be made
on what to do, and the laws already in place need to be enforced.
Nation Debt and Deficit: The huge debt the US has amassed is
approximately 19 trillion and we are still running a deficit. The problem The
massive spending that has gone on out of control along with a few other
factors. The spending has got to be
reduced with a manageable budget so that we can quit running these deficits.
Greece Debt problem: The Greece debt problem almost tore
down the Eurozone. This would have been a huge disaster for the European
economy if Greece would have defaulted on their debts. This has been averted for the time being, but
Greece needs to ensure they also limit their spending.
America’s poor road system: The road system in the US is in
a sad state of disrepair. This a going to be a huge cost to the American tax
payer. This will have to be planned in the national budget, and implemented
very soon.
Political Correctness: The political correctness problem in the
world has gotten out of control. Huge
decisions get made with the part of the deciding factor to not offend someone.
This often clouds judgment and makes for bad decisions.
Gun Violence in the US: The gun violence is running rampant
in major cities in the US, some of which have the toughest gun laws in the country. A key to curbing this is education in gun safety, and allowing lawful citizens the
right to carry.
Chinese Economy: The Chinese economy is in terrible shape and causes huge fluctuations in the market due to the government intervention. The Chines government needs to stop interfering in trading. Spending needs to be cut tremendously there as well.
Good afternoon Patrick. I appreciate your willingness to not be politically correct with your post. These are definitely some serious issues that we are facing. Most of your problems listed relate to a big failure of our politicians to address things early on and/or effectively. In other words it's a failure of leadership in many respects. If someone could come up with an entrepreneurial idea to make elected leaders more accountable they'd be rich and famous pretty quickly! I wasn't expecting someone to agree with me on firearms and I appreciate your solution. Robert Winter, my link is http://rustywinter.com/worlds-biggest-problems-week-3-ent3003/
ReplyDeleteThe problems listed are all ones that I would like to see change and ultimately an adequate resolution reached for the sake of the world. The one problem you pointed out that I completely missed was the gun violence one. I didn't think of it and I really should have as it affects most everyone who is affected by violent crime. This is a very hot topic and of course rightly so as there is a lot of preventable violence that could be curbed if the right controls are implemented while still protecting the 2nd Amendment. I also enjoyed your view on the Chinese government being so entwined and intermingled with their financial markets that its causing such rampant downswings in their economy. So much of the developed world depends on cheap Chinese labor that it makes them an indispensable cog that cannot go off the rails. Better controls definitely need to be implemented or the panics of last year concerning their financial markets can and will occur again if not rectified. Overall, your list was really good and it points out things we as humans can and should improve upon to make the world a much better and safer place.
